Our Logic (7th and 8th) is structured as a community which chooses to educate our children together, by registering for classes that fit our individual student’s needs from teachers provided by Grace Classical Academy on Tuesday and Friday. In this program, the only required class and community time is our Chapel and Soul Care time on Fridays. The rest of the program is designed for parents and students to choose their classes/schedules that best suit them in an a la carte fashion. All classes provided through GCA incorporate instruction from a Christian Biblical worldview. Parents and families come together as a community to hold dances and events as well as support administration and leadership with on campus needs on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout our year. Tuition is $470 per year, per student in addition to the cost of classes, which is a la carte, so it varies per family. Class cost ranges from $245-$840 per year, based on an hourly rate. Our class times vary from 1 hour per week to 2 ½ hours per week.
GCA’s Logic program is designed to draw on students’ emerging ability to engage in dialectical thinking. Subjects are integrated to help students make skillful connections between areas of study. We teach in a context of discipleship in order to “train the loves” (Aristotle), that is, to guide students to feel and act in accordance with truth, goodness and beauty. The Logic Program also seeks to:
- solidify understanding of the broad sweep of history
- hone skills in essay-writing and logical argument
- ensure a solid foundation in the scientific method and the process of experimentation
- continue to develop mathematics skills incrementally
